Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
An aircraft carrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The jet touched down following standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative commented in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to Brussels during the flight.
This incident does not mark the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet carrying a top government figure has experienced mechanical issues.
Months ago, a American military jet ferrying Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to turn back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
