FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch in early November. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
