British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
This update on his health arrives after the sports world shared its support for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
